Truth: Be the Change

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” –Mahatma Gandhi

TruthTruth.

Many of us spend our days in judgment of what we see around us. We talk about peace and harmony in the world. We pray for the end of war and political alliances that serve mankind. Then we walk past a homeless person on the street and we judge them by their circumstance.

In truth, we pass by our neighbors and we don’t even give a simple greeting such as “hello.” We claim to be open-minded and evolved but we rarely look one another in the eye and say, “I love you.” How many days go by before we tell a coworker, “good job” or we help a stranger without being asked?

We want these things but we’ve become immune to the simple gestures that could alter another person’s day. Change for the world begins with change in each of us. We can live out truth with one tiny change in how we greet one another would cause a revolutionary wave of peace and harmony on Earth.

We can be the change we wish to see by being aware of our own behaviors and making small changes to bring joy to another person. If everyone on the planet did just that we would indeed have peace on earth. I say to you, “hello friend – have a beautiful day.”
